I’ve been able to help a handful of friends create homes and spaces that reflect who they are, and how they want to live their lives. Most recently, one of my old friends from middle school, (WHEN DID WE GET THIS OLD!?) just moved back to Denver after graduating from Oregon with her Law Degree (you go Glenn Coco), and she asked me for some help pulling together a “southwest” vibe for her apartment. While I won’t divulge ALL of the ideas we talked about, I wanted to pull together a few little vignettes with sources, if you too are feeling inspired by the “modern southwest/mission” style.
With summer in full swing, I’ve been finding myself craving inordinate amounts of lemonade and sweet Arnold Palmers in the midst of Colorado’s dry, arid heat. I feel like my obsession with citrus is just beginning this summer, and I couldn’t wait to host a citrus inspired brunch, complete with fresh tangerine towers and a lemon, buttercream “naked”cake.

Recently I’ve been noticing myself feeling moody.
Sometimes I think this has a little bit to do with seasonal factors, finally coming out of winter being cooped up for months on end, but I also think it has something to do with the people I’ve surrounded myself with.
It’s not to say that any of the people closest to me are bad. Quite the opposite actually. They’re wonderfully intelligent, spontaneous and have so much to offer, but the second half of 2018 just felt like a hard year.
